Andy Fabo and Kevin O'Byrne - Ice Follies (North Bay, Ontario)

Andy Fabo and Kevin O'Byrne

(launch Andy Fabo and Kevin O'Byrne slideshow)

Andy Fabo and Kevin O’Byrne will create an homage hut of sorts. For their project they have created a larger than life-size “facsimile” of a hut, basically realistic signage on the lake that appears to be a normal hut, once the viewer is drawn out to this slightly odd shape/hut, they can view, on the reverse side of the sign, a collage image depicting members of the arts community of the city and region.

Andy Fabo is an artist, writer, educator and curator who has been an important part of the Toronto arts scene for close to forty years. He recently exhibited a large retrospective and recent works show at MOCCA and has shown often in Europe and across Canada. Andy is also a well known arts writer who has worked with many artists to create catalogues, essays and articles. He teaches at McMaster University in the Fine Arts Department.

Kevin O’Byrne is a sculptor, film technician and performance artist who also lives in Toronto and has shown his work extensively across Ontario. Kevin works with found objects and casting materials to create “distressed” architectures and forms from simple objects. He has worked for many years in the fabrication and film special effects industries and is a master carpenter.
