Donald Lawrence

Donald Lawrence is a nationally known and respected installation artist whose work has been installed in artist-run galleries across the country. His piece, working title "Camera Hut" will follow from a theme of placing home-made and eccentric pin-hole cameras in strange locations that Lawrence has been exploring for many years. The Camera Hut will consist of an eight-foot rowboat surmounted by a structure made of tin ceiling tiles. The result will, from a distance look like a cross between a giant turtle and a civil war iron-clad gunship. Inside the hut, Lawrence will construct screens for the pinhole cameras and place a periscope down into the water for underwater viewing.
